The Red Cross Telemarketers

I gave blood once. And that might be the only time if the Red Cross continues their annoying phone calls.

My blood type isn't even rare. Yet the Red Cross has the nerve to continue to call me even after I asked to be removed from their lists, and even after I told them that if they called once more I would never donate blood to their organization again.

The Red Cross obviously does not value life and does not value the people who donate blood. If they did, they would have stopped calling me.

I emailed the Red Cross about this in hope that they would consider changing their policy:

Occasionally I get calls from the Red Cross asking me to donate blood. I do not desire the calls and have asked to be removed from your lists in the past. Last time someone called I made it clear that I never will donate blood to the Red Cross again if I receive another phone call. I thought this was the end of the problem because the Red Cross should be interested in saving lives, not annoying people. Minutes ago I received a phone call from the Red Cross...

I have made it clear to my friends to not donate blood to the Red Cross because your organization does not respect the right to privacy. I would suggest changing your internal policies to respect privacy because until you do, my friends and I will not donate blood.

And while their reply was kind, I doubt it'll make a difference:

We are terribly sorry to hear of the inconvenience you described experiencing regarding the tele-recruitment calls. On your behalf, I forwarded your email to the Red Cross Blood Services regional headquarters in your area for their handling.

Sadly, if there's a reason to not donate blood it's the annoyances the Red Cross puts you through. I donated out of kindness--the least the Red Cross could do is stop annoying me out of kindness.
